It is not uncommon for a person to call 911 during a domestic assault. If the other party interrupts, impedes, disrupts, or interferes with the ability to make that call, they can be charged with interference with an emergency call. This offense is a Gross Misdemeanor, with a maximum penalty of 1 year in jail and a $3,000 fine.
